MARION SOPHOMORE SETS RECORDS AT JR. PARALYMPIC GAMES
Marion sophomore Lilah Boykins recently competed in her first-ever Move United Junior Nationals meet in swimming. According to their website, “Move United Junior Nationals presented by The Hartford is the largest, long-standing annual multi-sport event in the United States for youth with a physical, visual, and/or intellectual impairment who are classifiable under the International Paralympic Committee’s classification system.”
The event was hosted in the Denver Metro Area from July 16-22. The swimming portion took place over two days with the short course events on Monday the 18th and the long course events on Tuesday the 19th.
Boykins competed in seven events, breaking five Move United records in her age group and classification. She also set four new personal records.
