The Marion Patriot softball team lost a pair of non-conference games to Class 6A powerhouses over the weekend in Benton. Bentonville West rallied for three runs in the bottom of the seventh on Friday night to slip Marion 5-4, while 6A West favorite Rogers bested Marion 10-0 on Saturday. Kelsey Baker, Emerson Miller, Kelsey Eppes, Anna Murphy, and Brianna Morquecho accounted for Marion's five hits against Bentonville West. Eppes and Morquecho each logged a pair of RBI, while Miller, McKenzie Shinabery, and Anna Hitchman scored runs. Murphy and Eppes each struck doubles. Eppes doubled again against Rogers on Saturday to account for Marion's only base hit Marion is scheduled to play a varsity conference doubleheader on Tuesday at Paragould. Both games will be streamed live on MarionPatriots.com and on the Marion Patriots Activities Network mobile app. First pitch is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
