Lady Pats roll past Searcy

LADY PATS ROLL PAST SEARCY

SEARCY --- The Marion Lady Patriots won their seventh straight game Friday night, dominating the second half en route to a 68-38 victory at Lion Gymnasium over Searcy. The Lady Pats (13-5 overall, 3-0 5A East) forced 27 Searcy turnovers and connected on 60 percent of their field goals at Searcy. Marion's third quarter in White County was particularly spectacular to watch as the Lady Pats started that frame on a 16-2 run, including 10 from senior forward Daedrianna Cail. Marion connected on eight of 11 field goals in that stanza to lead 52-26 entering the last quarter. In the fourth quarter, Marion made six of 13 shots from the field, including their first four, to pull away from the Lady Lions. Marion forced 11 Searcy turnovers in the first quarter to jet out to a 19-4 lead after the opening stanza. The Lady Lions did not connect on a field goal until .9 seconds remained in the first eight minutes. The Lady Pats hit halftime with a 34-21 advantage. Cail paced Marion with 16 points and six rebounds, while Ny'Asia Jackson scored 12 points and handed out seven assists. Jessica Robins hit for eight points. Searcy sophomore Eva Roberts scored 16 points while Blair Henry hit for seven. Marion hosts Batesville Tuesday night at Fidelity Bank Arena. The game will tip at 6:00 p.m. and will be livestreamed on MarionPatriots.com and on the Marion Patriots Activities Network mobile app.
