EIGHT MARION VOLLEYBALL PLAYERS EARN POSTSEASON AWARDS
Following a 27-2 season, capped by the first outright league title since 2015, and the first state semifinal appearance in five years, eight Marion Patriot volleyball players and Coach Lisa Beasley earned postseason awards.
Seniors Anna Caroline Fesmire, Daedrianna Cail, and Kora Wilson garnered all-state honors for their excellent 2021 seasons. Fesmire earned an all-state nod for a third consecutive season, while Cail and Wilson landed on the all-state roster for the second year in a row. Fesmire and Cail also earned all-state tournament team honors. Cail, who signed in November with Arkansas-Little Rock, also earned Arkansas Volleyball Coaches of America All-America Honorable Mention, AVCA All-Region, and All-Arkansas Preps Volleyball First Team honors. Fesmire and Wilson landed on the AVCA Best and Brightest second team, featuring players who maintain a 3.8 weighted GPA or a 3.3 unweighted GPA. The three all-state performers also earned all-conference nods.
Seniors Madison Keith, Lauryn Keith, Kiara Ledezma, and Emerson and Miller, and junior Kiah Rucker landed on the 5A East All-conference team. Madison Keith and Rucker were all-state honorable mention selections.
Beasley earned 5A East coach of the year after Marion finished 14-0 in league play. It's the 11th time Beasley has earned conference Coach of the Year in her career. Beasley, the only volleyball coach Marion has had in 25 years, guided the Pats to a program-best 27-game winning streak this fall.
