The Marion Patriots went 6-0 on Saturday to win the Hot Springs Lakeside Tournament. Marion (16-1 overall, 8-0 5A-East) beat Russellville (25-19 and 25-18), Lake Hamilton (25-10 and 25-10) and Beebe (25-9 and 25-7) in pool play. In bracket play, Marion rallied to beat Van Buren (23-25, 25-8 and 15-5) in the first round before slipping Shiloh Christian (25-17 and 25-15) in the semifinals. The Patriots topped Mena (25-10 and 25-10) for the title. Marion's 16-1 start is its best since 2016, when the Patriots last won a conference title and finished as state runner-up.
