The Marion Junior High cross country teams debuted on Saturday, September 11 at the Fast and Furious Cougar Classic with stellar results. The MJHS girls team won the classic behind eighth-grader Kaitlyn Austin, who placed first with an individual time of 13:24. Classmate Abby Simmons ranked second with a final time of 13:46. Reese Goodwin finished fourth (14:10). Eighth-graders Morgan Pounds and Addison Wiemer and seventh-graders Dionsay Watkins, Alexis Gonzalez, Ariadne Gonzalez, Elisabeth White, and Abby Patterson all received medals for placing in the top 20. The boys team finished second at the classic, led by seventh-grader Korbin Littlejohn, who placed fifth with an individual time of 12:30. Eighth-graders Kayden Harris, Solomon Flores and Josh Williams and seventh-graders Eian Henderson, Tyler Cole, and Joe Allen each received medals for finishing in the top 20.
