SIX PATRIOT SOFTBALL PLAYERS EARN POSTSEASON AWARDS
After helping their team to a 19-12 final record in 2025, along with a conference runner-up finish and a berth in the state tournament, six Marion softball players earned postseason awards.
Sophomores Kayson “Kbelle” McClain and Kolbie Triplett earned all-state and all-conference honors, while seniors Maddie Cupples and Chloe Miller, junior Presley Kuhn, and freshman Madelyn Hamrick earned all-league nods.
McClain earned a second straight all-state and all-conference nod in 2025 after batting .409 with a .514 on-base percentage. She racked up 36 hits this spring, including 17 doubles, and a team-high six home runs. She paced the Pats with 50 RBI, and she was third with 30 runs scored. The sophomore threw 65 innings inside the circle and struck out 41 batters, while allowing just 37 earned runs.
Triplett earned a second consecutive all-conference nod, and her first all-state selection, after leading Marion this spring in batting average (.484), OBP (.571), hits (45), triples (five), and runs (39), and she was second with 14 stolen bases.
Cupples emerged as the team's top pitcher in her senior season, topping the Patriot pitching chart in innings pitched (74.2), games started (13), wins (10), and strikeouts (41). Cupples added 12 runs scored and five walks, while striking out only twice at the plate, and she finished with a .932 fielding percentage.
Miller anchored Marion's order from the lead-off slot, and as the team's everyday centerfielder. Miller batted .341 with a .509 OBP this season, ripping 29 hits, including eight doubles and two triples. She scored 32 runs and drove in 15 more, while drawing a team-high 28 walks, and she stole a team-high 18 bags.
Kuhn earned all-league honors in her first season as Marion's shortstop, and the sure-handed junior hit .311 this spring with a .424 OBP. She finished with 23 hits, including a double and two triples. She scored 23 times and drove in 10 runs, and she stole 11 bases.
Hamrick earned the starting job at third base during the off-season, and she produced, batting .369 with a .523 OBP as a freshman. She rapped out 24 hits this season to go along with 24 runs scored and 23 RBI, and she was hit by a pitch 13 times to lead the club.
