FIVE LADY PATRIOTS EARN POSTSEASON AWARDS

Five Marion Lady Patriot basketball players earned postseason honors after helping their team to a 20-11 final record in 2024-2025 and a fourth berth in the state tournament in the past five years. Senior forward Joniya “Red” Lewis earned all-state honors, while classmate Ayanna Hayes, juniors Jada Cheers and Madison Glaspie, and sophomore Summer Morgan garnered all-conference nods. Lewis built on her all-conference junior season this winter, ranking near the top of Marion's stat sheets in scoring and rebounding. Lewis finished with six points, three rebounds, and two assists in Marion's first state-tournament game against Benton. Lewis led Marion in scoring this season eight times. Hayes earned a starting guard role over the off-season, and she finished near the top of Marion's stat chart in scoring, rebounding, and steals. Hayes recorded seven points, seven rebounds, four assists, and two steals in the state tournament against Benton. Cheers earned a second consecutive all-league nod in '24-'25 after finishing as one of Marion's top scorers and rebounders. Cheers scored a team-high 12 points with three rebounds, three steals, and an assist against Benton, and she led the team in scoring this season nine times. Glaspie earned an all-conference nod for the second straight year this season, and she excelled whether she started the game or came off the bench. Glaspie ranked near the top in scoring, rebounding, and steals. Morgan joined the Marion basketball program last summer, when she locked a starting guard slot. The sophomore had a productive all-around season as a scorer, ball-handler, and defender. Morgan logged nine points, four steals, two rebounds, and one assist against Benton in the state tournament.
